Benicàssim Council’s aim is to guarantee access to the web site for the largest possible number of people. This endeavour consolidates the municipal tendency to make new technologies a useful tool for communication between the Council and all its townspeople, including any with physical, psychic or sensorial handicaps.
The site is fully programmed according to the strictest rules of the Internet Consortium (W3C) and abides by their specifications (strict XHTML 1.0 and CSS2). The code is valid and has been tested on the following browsers: Internet Explorer versions 5.5 + for Windows and Macintosh, Opera 6+, Netscape 6+, FireFox and Camino. For any persons with sight difficulties a dual strategy has been implemented: on one hand you can enable a function which allows the letter size to be dynamically scaled on the screen and also programme most of the pages of the municipal web site to comply with accessibility level 1 and part of level 2 laid down by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).
